Zero Emission Van Plan features at CV Show

BVRLA’s Head of Policy and Public Affairs Thomas McLennan joined The EV Café panel on the second day of the Commercial Vehicle Show to spread the word about the Zero Emission Van Plan.

The BVRLA launched the plan earlier this year in collaboration with Logistics UK, Recharge UK, Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) and The EV Café. Events like the Commercial Vehicle show provide the chance to further the discussion and continue to build one strong voice to support adoption of zero-emission vans. Tom shared the stage with key voices on this topic, Lorna McAtear of National Grid and Keith Shorter of Europcar.

The Zero Emission Van Plan group is looking for operators to share their stories: Operator experiences survey. Only through having examples of success and first-hand anecdotes can barriers be overcome, and others inspired to move.

BVRLA Membership Manager Greg Theaker and Learning and Development Team also attended the show to meet with members. Head of Learning and Development Mark Pow said, “Since the beginning of the year, we have seen an interest from our CV members in our training portfolio, so the CV Show offered a great chance to talk with those members directly and highlight how we can support them across a variety of different topics. Rental and leasing members were equally as interested, with the ZEV Mandate being one of the key areas high up on their lists.”

Instructor-led courses of interest to CV members include Electric Van & Trucks - Operational Technical Support & Fleet Management and BVRLA Fair Wear & Tear Standard for Light Commercial Vehicles.
