2024 is set to be an exciting time for the country politically. July's general election has brought a new government and a record number of new MPs have entered the House of Commons for the first time. The BVRLA wants to make sure MPs are thinking about fleets and understand the importance of our industry, but we can’t do it alone. We are asking members to sign up to support our engagement programme and become industry champions.
Important! Industry Champion terms - Please click here and read before enrolling
We are looking for one Industry Champion per member site. Please note, this programme is not currently designed for associate members or industry stakeholders. If you would like to support the BVRLA's work in this area, please email [email protected] to discuss.
By signing up you are agreeing to the following:
- You have the necessary permissions from your senior management team to sign up and be the primary contact for your firm at your location
- You agree to the asks set out in the BVRLA’s Future of Fleets Manifesto and will use your position as an industry champion to promote and endorse these asks
- Engagement will be carried out in a non-partisan way, and candidates from across the political spectrum will be treated equally regardless of your personal political beliefs
- Agree to host MPs/political visits at your office, a visit occurs, and liaise internally to ensure appropriate firm representation
- You are giving the BVRLA permission to email you about the Industry Champion engagement programme
How Industry Champions would get the sector in front of politicians:
✅Hosting constituency visits to branches/offices/depots (if an MP agrees to visit)
✅Writing to MPs and candidates
✅Accompanying the BVRLA at meetings and engagement events
How the BVRLA will support:
✅Draft letters for Champions to send to MPs and politicians, as well as chase on member’s behalf
✅Cover the organisation elements of any visit to ensure timings work for the member
✅Brief the member in advance of any meeting and create the required materials
✅Facilitate and guide any discussion
