The BVRLA Parliamentary Reception, hosted in the House of Commons, provides the opportunity for members, Ministers, MPs, Peers and other influential guests to come together in support of the economic, societal and environmental contribution being made by the UK vehicle rental, leasing and fleet sectors.
Parliamentary Reception Autumn 2024
Our planned reception will be taking place on the terrace of the House of Lords on Tuesday 10 September.
The event will focus on fleet sector’s decarbonisation and priorities. At the reception we will highlight the vital demand role BVRLA members play in the automotive supply chain – funding vehicles, enabling UK manufacturers to thrive by being the primary purchasers of BEVs (especially important in the context of the ZEV mandate) and by being key suppliers to the used market. Our members role of finance means they are central to the UK’s economic strength and they are embracing innovation in the industry more widely.
There will also be plenty of opportunity to network with fellow leaders in the automotive, fleet and wider UK business sector to discuss the topic of transport decarbonisation.

2019 Event Highlights
One hundred BVRLA members and staff were joined by two government ministers, three shadow ministers, the chair of the BEIS Select Committee, 18 Select Committee members, three shadow spokespeople and three Peers, as well as other guests and officials - making the 2019 Parliamentary Reception, the biggest ever.
2018 Event Highlights
30 MPs and Peers joined over 100 BVRLA members and guests at a Parliamentary Reception in the House of Commons to launch the BVRLA ‘Plug-in Pledge’ outlining members' commitment to see its combined plug-in vehicle fleet size surge from 50,000 to to 720,000 by 2025.
